How do you know you’re reading a really great series? What is the thing that makes you go “YES, this is awesome!” and start claiming book boyfriends? What defines your favorite series? One of the ways I can tell that I am in absolute adoration with a series or a book is that the minute I finish reading, I want to go back and re-read it. And every time, every time, I finish the newest book in this series, my first thought is to go back and read it all over again. I will never get the same feeling I had when I first read Luther (because he was my first, which may be why I love him so much- he’s still mine by the way and I will cut you if you try to take him from me!), but I will still go back to reading this series. It’s one I need to own, in physical form, because I love it that much.
It took me awhile to figure out what to write for this review. I didn’t know what to say without giving away the plot, but also didn’t know how to get across to you that this series is AMAZING. (Besides using shouty caps).
KL Donn weaves a magical world that makes partially (or fully) psychotic men who drop bodies faster than you can blink hotter than I would have ever thought possible. I am as obsessed with this series, and Atticus, as I am with the Adair Empire, as the men are with their women. Atticus is no different when it comes to wanting to own his woman, wanting to give her happiness in a world full of darkness. Because the women of the empire are FIERCE, but they are also the light to their guys’ darkness.
I can’t get too much into the book plot, because you need to read the previous books and I don’t want to spoil those if you haven’t already. Also, SHIT GOES DOWN in this book and I want you to be able to get that “first time” feeling too.
Atticus has been watching Catalina for months, since they found out about her existence. When the danger seems to be getting to close to home, he goes to get Catalina. AND THE FIREWORKS GO OFF. If you’ve read Castiel’s story, you know that the theme song was pretty much “Bodies” by Drowning Pool. Atticus is a little different, where there’s not that much bloodshed, but it’s not because Atticus doesn’t like it. Oh, no. Catalina just lives in the middle of freaking nowhere.
That’s about all I’m willing to dish on this until you can read it for yourself. I could literally write a thesis about how much I love these books, and how I literally screamed when I got Atticus on my kindle (my fiance was NOT happy about that! he thought I was dying or something), and how I can’t WAIT to read Carver and “Gasping for Air”. I could go on and on about how much I love KL and the world she created (and I’m saying it was specifically for me because that makes me happy). Because seriously, these books talk to the darkest parts of you, call to them, and make you question your own sanity for a bit. And I’m talking “Should I like this so much?” kind of sanity. It’s the kind that makes you go “MINE” for one of the guys, but then ask “uh, should I want this book boyfriend this much?”
My answer? WHO CARES. GO GET THIS SERIES! — Also, I’m screaming about that sneak peak into Carver.
Side note- I’m always screaming. I may be slightly over dramatic about books. Maybe.

Ari Daniels didn’t count on her whole world tumbling down around her in a mess of shredded promises, broken love, and unbelievable heartbreak. Alone and stricken with grief, she shouldered the blame and eventually closed her heart off, refusing to open it for another. After all, anytime she tried, guilt and regret were waiting in the wings to remind her how painful it was.

Harper is a NEW YORK TIMES, WALL STREET JOURNAL and USA TODAY bestselling author residing in Georgia with her husband and three daughters. She has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books, hibachi, tattoos and Game of Thrones. When she isn’t writing you can almost always find her with a book in hand.

Marble isn’t the only thing that’s hard at this museum.
Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom to three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, even though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey, and her favorite word starts with f, ends with k.

I’m the oldest of three girls, born in a small town with a big diamond mine. My love for writing and reading started from a young age and going off by myself with a notebook and pen in hand was one of my favourite past times. I am an introvert, yeah, I know right, you didn’t see that one coming! I dislike crowds which means I do my shopping super early, like when the doors open I’m there. I love cupcakes, cakes, any baking really and pasta! I have a twelve-year-old black cat who’s addicted to catnip aka kitty crack, I love sweet tea, pink cotton candy, butter on toast and fairy lights. I’m a book hoarder, lover of stationery and notebooks, Chapstick addict, and love to crochet when time allows. I married my high school sweetheart and we have two wonderful boys who make me proud to call myself a mom. My family has always been super supportive and for that I am grateful. Surrounding yourself with people who understand your passion is so important and a lifeline on those days you feel like throwing all your notebooks in a box and burning it.(Not that I’ve ever wanted to do that, it would kill me…seriously guys!) Music plays a very important part in my writing. I have heaps of playlists for inspiration but I’m a country girl at heart and some of my favourite country artists are Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Raelyn and Ashley McBride. The series I’m working on now has been years in the making. It started out with a scene I had in my head of a girl lying on the snowy riverbank, and a dog…. that’s it, and the rest is history!
