This story is as old as time.
Girl meets boy.
They fall in love and, after their fair share of highs and lows, they finally get their happily ever after …
Only in my story, happily ever after seems to be so far away.
William and I are together, but we’re apart.
It’s hard and painful, but we make do because not being together is harder than having a long-distance relationship.
Every turn is more painful than the last, and I’m not sure if I’m ready for it.
If we are ready for it.
William
For more than a year, I waited.
For more than a year, I was a good boy playing by the rules.
For more than a year, I’ve been waiting for the right moment.
I gave her time she needed.
The time we needed.
I watched her go in and out of my life, time and time again.
But I’m done playing this game.
I can see the pain in her eyes. The pain that matches my own.
It’s time to end this and claim what’s mine.
Because I’m hers, and she’s mine and we … We’re forever.

I laughed, I cried, I complained to Anna, I cried some more happy tears, and I smiled so hard my cheeks hurt. At the end of Lost & Found, Will and Ana decided to have a long distance relationship while she finished school. Forever continues their story, their heartbreak every time they had to leave each other, the drama they dealt with not living in the same country, the important events they had to miss for each other, because they couldn’t fly back and forth across the ocean that often.

When I was going to college, an hour and half away by train, away from my man I saw him once a week and I thought I’d cry all the time. I couldn’t imagine not seeing him for MONTHS. But reading Will and Ana’s story, the one Anna crafted, made it easier to believe it was happening to me. I could feel every emotion Will and Ana felt, though I’m a *tad* over dramatic usually so add whatever they felt times, like, ten. When they were happy, I felt like my cheeks hurt from smiling so much, and when they were hurting, my heart hurt with them. I cried (A LOT) happy and sad tears.

In the teasers for this novella, Anna called it heartbreaking- and in some ways, it was. Every time Ana or Will had to leave each other, I felt my own heart crack open as if I were experiencing it with them, by their side, in the relationship. That is all because of the beautiful way Anna writes and captures her audience. When I read Lost & Found, there were times Ana annoyed me, in her reluctance to admit, even to herself, her feeling for Will. But in Forever I was so incredibly proud of the progress Ana made as a person and in her relationship. Will always fought for Ana in the beginning, but you can feel her fighting for Will in here.

The pages and chapters flew by, as every moment I wanted to know what was happening next. Anna is now tormenting me with her next project, as I try to cope with the ending of Will and Ana (I’M NOT HANDLING IT WELL). This couple will go down as one of my favorite books, and favorite couple. I urge you to pick up this series and fall in love with these characters as I have, (AND THEN TALK TO ME ABOUT IT). I promise you, you will not regret beginning this journey.

Until by Anna B. Doe Review

newarcbannerblurbuntilI was betrayed by those I loved. Those I believed in. It was the first and the last time I let myself love someone outside my family.
Love makes you weak. It makes you wish for things you can’t have. It makes you vulnerable, and I swore I would never again go down that path.
Until I met him—Jack Daniel Shelton.

She left me. She ruined me. The day I found her gone, I promised myself I’d never let anyone have that kind of hold on me again. Especially not a woman. Now she’s back.
No matter how much time has passed, no matter what I tell myself, her hold on me is still strong. But she holds a secret. A secret I can’t escape from, but a secret I can’t turn my back on, either. A secret that could ruin everything I’ve worked for.
And then, there is her—Sienna Roberts. Everything was just as it was supposed to be, until she walked into my life.

Can two souls that lost faith in love find it in one another?

So Lost & Found was a slow burn, but Until was most decidedly not. While I think Until could be read as a standalone, I think it’s best you read the series starting with Lost & Found. The two stories happen at the same time, so it was probably really hard to write, but made for a really awesome book.

Sierra and J.D. fall into bed together pretty quickly (no shame!) but it takes them awhile to find the love they both needed. And there is so much drama, so much drama, my emotions were all over the place! I binge read this, read a special epilogue in Anna’s reading group that had me cracking up, then jumped straight into Forever, and died all over again. And Anna knows she’s evil, she enjoys it, and although I may say I hate her for being evil, I really love her. Until made me mad, sad, laugh, cry. It had me wanting to shake Sierra, though not as hard as I wanted to shake Anabel, and I wanted to kick J.D. sometimes. I was so heavily involved in these characters, and it was all because Anna is amazing at getting you on a roller coaster you never want to get off of.

Sierra is messed up from a past relationship. So messed up, she wants nothing to do with love. She firmly believes she doesn’t want love and marriage and all that jazz. She keeps everyone out, except her mother and sister, and it is hard to find people in her world that deserve to get past that wall. When she meets Anabel, her sister’s au pair, her walls slowly start to crumble. When she meets J.D. initially, he doesn’t get past those walls. But over time, J.D. crumbles every wall she kept up, leaving her afraid of the possibilities.

J.D. has his own issues with drama and his own messed up past. He feels the pull to Sierra immediately, but he isn’t looking for a relationship, so when she keeps her walls firmly in place, he lets her. He doesn’t like it, but he lets it happen. The more Sierra and J.D. are forced to meet each other, the more he crumbles those walls, and lets his own fall. But there’s more going on then just two people trying to heal each other when they don’t want to be healed. In Lost & Found you find out J.D. has a sister, one he didn’t know about. They don’t share the same dad, so he basically becomes a full time father over night. But reading these two interact, while J.D. tries to find his way with Sierra and through life, was absolutely amazing.

I loved every single page of this book, even the parts I wanted to shake Sierra. ESPECIALLY when I wanted to yell at J.D. Anna made these characters real for me. And I need more, SO MUCH MORE. Then again, I always need more so it’s not a surprise. Anna, I love you even when you’re evil and tease me with new projects. And I love this series, so so much.

Lost & Found by Anna B. Doe Review

newarcbannerblurblost & foundI don’t know what I want to do with my life. The only thing I am sure of is that this is not what I imagined my life to be. So, instead of staying and trying to figure out what is wrong, I choose to run away. I choose the unknown. I choose the adventure.
My name is Anabel Majer, and I’m lost.

I have it all—well, almost all: family, health, money, fame, career, women, you name it. The only thing I am missing is a Super Bowl ring—or so I thought until the night everything changed. One night, a small Tinkerbell collided with my life, and I am gone.
My name is William Price, and I found her.

She is everything he wanted.
He is everything she needed to stay away from.
What happens if at the end of the journey you lose more than you find?

Talk about a slow burn!! The story of Anabel and William unfolds over the course of a year, with a constant push and pull that makes you want to scream. William is so unbelievably sweet, even for a big football player, that I wanted to shake Ana, MANY TIMES, for not just giving into him. And I wanted to hug Will and tell him that it was ok she was being a big meanie-pants, because I was there for him.

I love that this book is safe (i.e. Will doesn’t go try to screw someone else to get over Ana, and Ana sure as hell didn’t go out on dates or anything with other guys). Will might constantly say that needs to get laid, that’s why he was so crazy over his Tinkerbell, but he never made moves to rectify the situation (okay, ONCE he went with someone else to some thing because he needed a date and Ana was being mean but he didn’t put the moves on his date at ALL).

The reason that this got 4.5 stars instead of 5 for me was because of Ana. One, she was lying to herself like, the whole time. There were times she was honest with herself, but when her friends pushed to her to be honest with herself and them, she was usually witchy back to them. And then there were the times her fear made her lash out at William, giving him major hot and cold feels. At first, it was a huge turn off. But then the more I read, the more I understood Ana, and the more my heart ached for her too. She was lost in school, not really sure what to do, so traveled half way across the year to be a companion. She wasn’t supposed to fall in love with the family, or make friends, and she was definitely not supposed to fall in love. She tried so hard not to, but she did.

Will did not make it easy on her either. He pulled out all the stops to get her to fall for him. The ending just about broke me. And Forever comes out soon and all I can think is that it needs to be EPIC (which it probably will, because so far Anna is an amazing author), but I’m also terrified of what’s going to happen because the teaser said it was heartbreaking and I just don’t know if I’m mentally prepared enough for this. I need epilogues with marriage and babies and Happily Ever Afters, thank you very much (that was me asking very politely Anna, but I need it like Spongebob needs water!!).

Jock Row gave me some super Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf feels. Rowdy the wolf course. First, he’s a growing boy and literally doesn’t stop eating. I don’t know many times he thought that he could eat Scarlett but it was sexy AF so I was down for it. And Scarlett is the good girl who loves bringing food to Rowdy just to see him scarf it down, but she’s also the one that’s not afraid to sass d-bag baseball players, and call them on their shit.

Scarlett and Rowdy’s banter in this book had me smiling like a freaking goofball the entire time. Even when Scarlett gets kicked out of the baseball house that first night, she doesn’t lose her sass; she doesn’t back down. I loved the games these two played with each other (I’ve never wanted to play Never Have I Ever so badly!) and I loved the friendship these two created, sitting outside on the porch of the baseball house, despite neither of them living there. I love how Rowdy is open with Scarlett, showing her a side not many see.

And Jesus I though Oz (from the Studying Hours: How to Date a Douchebag) was a pervert, but I swear Rowdy beats him. Trust me. Read Oz and James’ story, then read Rowdy and Scarlett. Rowdy takes pervert to a whole new level, and I love it!! This is a friends to lovers novel, so it’s a bit of a slow burn. It takes these two a minute to get vertical, (but holy hell when they do it’s AWESOME), but that does not stop Rowdy or Scarlett from having dirty thoughts.

From beginning to end, this book was entertaining, light hearted, and the perfect romantic comedy to get you out of a book hangover, or to help you move on from the book that just ripped your heart out and stomped it to pieces. Even if Rowdy sucked, which he doesn’t, this book would so be worth reading just to meet Rowdy’s parents. His mom is the BOMB DOT COM. This was a book I will probably buy because my need to re-read it will over come me many times. Rhett (from The Learning Hours: How to Date a Douchebag) will always be my favorite, partly due to his ability to speak French and not know what it does to lady bits around the world, but Rowdy is seriously a close second. Like so close, I think I’ll claim both of them as my book boyfriends and live happily in my little menage.

IT’S LIVE~THE HARDEST FALL BY ELLA MAISE

Title: The Hardest Fall
Author: Ella Maise
Genre: Romantic Comedy/Contemporary Romance
 Release Date: April 18, 2018
Blurb
The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You
smile, say hello. Should be simple, if you’re anyone but me. The first time I
met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his
body. You see, I’m very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed
in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool
of myself in front of a guy I’m attracted to.
At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of
what I said would matter since I’d never speak to him again. Turns out, I was
very wrong. He was the star wide receiver of the football team, one of the few
players expected to make it into the NFL, and I ended up seeing him all over
campus.
I might have also propositioned him, run away from him,
attacked him with a cooking utensil…and…uh, maybe I shouldn’t tell you all of
it. It’s pretty normal stuff, things you’d expect…from me. Eventually, the time
came when I couldn’t hide anymore—not that he’d have let me even if I tried.
Before now, he never knew I was secretly watching him. Now
that we see each other every day, he knows when I have a hard time looking
away. It doesn’t help that I’m not the most subtle person in the world either.
He smiles at me and tells me he finds me fascinating because
of my quirks. I can’t even tell him that I think my heart beats differently
whenever he’s around.
He thinks we’re going to be best friends. I think I have a
big thing for him, and the more I get to know him, the more I don’t care that
I’m not allowed to be his friend, let alone fall for him.
The thing is, that’s exactly what I’m doing—what we’re
doing, I think.
Falling.
Hard.

On the Edge by Dr. Rebecca Sharp Review!

arc review 1blurbontheedgeFrom International Amazon Bestselling Author, Dr. Rebecca Sharp, comes the new standalone in the Winter Games series.

Emmett
Do. Not. Touch.
Alice Ryder came with more warning signs than a museum exhibit.
Under twenty-one. Best friend’s baby sister. Heart-broken.
I was only supposed to keep an eye on her and keep my hands to myself.
But her sunshine sucked me in.
Why did she have to want me? Why did she have to want me to save her?
I wasn’t her savior. I wasn’t the prince in her fairytale.
I was only the asshole in shining armor.

Ally
For some, heartbreak becomes a habit.
Losing so much had taught me that it’s easier to just give up the things you care about before they are taken.
Because you can’t lose what you don’t have.
I gave up the warmth of the sun and sand hoping that the cold, snowy mountains of Colorado would be able to numb whatever feelings I had left and bury the pieces of my heart under the frost.
And then I met Emmett Jameson – the King of the Mountainand my brother’s best friend.
He was cold and controlling – treating me like the child that I wasn’t.
He was everything that promised to break what was left of me.
And I needed him for it.
My shattered heart would be safe wanting someone like him.
Then again, heartbreak was my bad habit.

Dr. Rebecca Sharp is an International Amazon Best-selling author of contemporary romance. By day, she is also a doctor living in Pennsylvania with her husband. Growing up, she always loved a good love story and let’s face it, when you include a romance novel on your 8th grade summer reading list just to see if the teacher would notice (she didn’t!), she was bound to give writing one of her own a go. She also enjoys traveling with her husband, snowboarding, and cooking.

Holy broken, Batman. This is one story that gutted me. Not only do you have an alpha who immediately connects with the heroine, but they’re both so messed up they become enemies.

So yes, this is an enemies to lovers romance. But it’s not hate at first sight.

Emmett, the King of the Mountain, is best friends with Ally’s brother, Chance. She’s so far off limits in his mind, it’s not funny. Not only can he not chance(heh) his relationship with Chance, aka Pride, he doesn’t do long term. He’s the ultimate player, drowning himself in women, booze, and drugs to forget Ally and everything he thinks he doesn’t deserve. As much as he wants to stay away from Ally, though, he can’t. He’s obsessed, wanting to keep her away from every man and anything that could possibly hurt her, and that includes himself.

Ally is hurting too. Her boyfriend, her soulmate, was in an accident and died, so she moves away from sunny Florida, back to Aspen with her older twin siblings, Chance and Channing. She’s hurting, trying not to feel anything. Her reaction to Emmett is not what she wants nor needs while she’s trying to heal. These two cannot help their reactions to each other, but they cut each other down for months, trying to hurt the other, to remind themselves not to cross the line they so desperately want to cross.

But holy hell, Ally is stubborn. When she decides to hell with the consequences, she wants Emmett, she does whatever she can to prove to him, to prove to those around her, they can be together. At the end, it’s up to Emmett to decide to forgive himself, to heal himself, so he can be with Ally. When they finally get together it’s freaking EXPLOSIVE.

AND I LOVE IT. My heart aches for these two, for the pain they both carried while they tried to live half a life. Rebecca brought these characters to life, through pain and heat ache, but also through alpha possessiveness and sheer determination to help heal another person, and to heal yourself. I loved everything about this book, and was captivated from the very first page, the first line. I needed to see this happily ever after.

I need an epilogue!
